The Society took part in the Eastcote Christmas Fair once again in December 2012. It was a dry, bright but rather chilly day which brought a steady stream of local folk onto the street. There were many other community stalls, some continental food and childrens' rides and amusements.
A stage was set up at "The Ascott" (pub) and the Mayor of Hillingdon switched on the lights in the afternoon after popping by our stall to buy his raffle ticket. You may notice from our photographs that he wasn't the only person to drop by for a raffle ticket - we had a shepherd or two come to see us.
We had a willing band of volunteers selling homemade cakes and iced biscuits, bulbs and small plants which made ideal Christmas presents. The raffle went well and we sold all the marmalade and local honey. Many thanks to all our helpers, especially Margaret Porter who made the majority of the small cakes, tray bake slices and biscuits.
