Our second coach trip on Saturday 21st November 2015, was rather different in that we didn't make our traditional visit to a garden. Following members' feedback we booked a visit for 21st November to see the Christmas celebrations at Waddesdon Manor.
The artist, Bruce Munro, had set the outside of the Manor alight with a music and light show which ran for a few minutes every hour and every half hour, so there were plenty of opportunities to enjoy it. Inside the house the theme was Lights and Legends which focused on stories from around the globe. These were alongside the traditional Christmas decorations, with beautiful trees and the dining table set for a feast.
However, as if this wasn't enough, there was a Christmas market with stalls set up around the outside of the Manor. Quality independent traders offered a wide range of gifts and food. Some made perfect presents and some were consumed on the spot. The decorations in the Manor and the light show across its exterior change every year and I suspect there may be a call from our members to make another visit in the lead up to Christmas this year.
